The Swiss Federal Council has published interim measures for the role of Switzerland within the research framework Horizon 2020. The measures aim at supporting researchers that are working within a Horizon 2020 project and don’t receive any financial assistance from Brussels anymore. They should ensure an unobstructed participation of Swiss researchers in the projects. Within this year, a complete association of Switzerland in Horizon 2020 should be obtained. Switzerland now has a “third country status”, which means researchers can take part in projects but do not receive funding from Brussels. The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation will publish application forms for a project-based funding in autumn. Here you will find the press release. The Swiss Federal Council has furthermore published a factsheet on Horizon 2020.
