Project Description

The SYSWIND project is a high quality Europe wide training network to produce well qualified researchers in the area of wind energy and new wind turbine technology.


The research is a cross-disciplinary (mechanical, civil, electrical engineering and computer science) effort to understand the role of cutting edge technologies in wind energy generation. These include smart materials and damage mechanics, signal processing and semi-active controls along with emerging technologies such as Wireless Sensor Networks. SYSWIND will help shaping the wind turbine technology as a competitive alternative and renewable energy generator in a growing renewable energy market in Europe and beyond.
