Fund your Green Deal project from impressive EUR 983 million call

The European Commission has just published a call worth almost 1 billion euro to fund projects in support of the European Green Deal. With a submission deadline of 26 January 2021 it will also be the last call of the Horizon 2020 programme. All organisations in the UK, including universities and companies, can participate and are fully eligible for funding under the H2020 financial rules.
Together, the projects in eight thematic areas and two cross-cutting, horizontal areas will work towards the EC’s aim: Building a low-carbon, climate resilient future: Research and innovation in support of the European Green Deal. In terms of project type, the focus clearly is on the more application and market-oriented “Innovation Actions” (IA), with less funding allocated to the “Research and Innovation Actions” (RIA) and the “Coordination and Support Actions” (CSA).
The funding per project varies from EUR 3 to 53 million, with some projects addressing a combination of activities. All projects are expected to deliver tangible results in the short- to medium-term, addressing the urgent challenges of the climate crisis.
