Blog series 5/5: CCAM 2026

Horizon Europe’s call HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D6-06 invites consortia to develop a federated data exchange platform that enables secure, efficient and interoperable sharing of mobility and research data for the Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) Partnership and its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. The platform will support both large-scale demonstrations and operational deployment, while catering to the diverse needs of industry, researchers and public authorities. With the submission deadline on 20 January 2026, applicants should focus on creating a robust infrastructure that integrates multiple data sources, enhances accessibility and supports safe and scalable CCAM systems.

Key expectations for proposals

The European Commission expects proposals to deliver:

Pro tip: Emphasise how your platform will make data accessible, usable and secure. Highlight interoperability standards, alignment with FAIR principles and how it supports large-scale CCAM demonstrations.

Enabling data-driven CCAM innovation

CCAM systems rely on vast amounts of real-time data, from sensor outputs to traffic and mobility information. Current data-sharing approaches are fragmented, making it difficult to develop robust, interoperable solutions. Proposals should focus on:

Pro tip: Showcase practical use cases where your platform enhances system testing, validation, or AI training. Demonstrating real-world applicability strengthens your proposal.

Strategic alignment with the CCAM partnership

A federated data platform is critical for scaling CCAM technologies, enabling collaboration across EU projects and supporting consistent regulatory compliance. Proposals should align with:

Pro tip: Position your project as a data backbone for CCAM innovation. Demonstrate how the platform facilitates collaboration, accelerates deployment and supports regulatory monitoring and performance benchmarking.
