Innovation in H2020 food and transport projects – are you ready for the stage 2 proposal writing?
6th May 2020 at 3:08 pm
Are you waiting for the results of your stage 1 proposal or have you just received an invitation to submit the full (stage 2) proposal? Well done! If you are wondering about the chances of success in stage 2, we have estimated these for a number of call topics with recently published evaluation results – see the lists at the end of this blog post. You may also be interested in our recent blog post on the most frequently asked questions that researchers ask before writing the stage 2 proposal. And of course you may ask yourself:
How to get started for stage 2 proposal writing?
Ideally, your consortium meets in a web conference shortly after the publication. You may wish to schedule a date and time for this now to ensure that all your project partners are available. From our experience, these are the points to think of when starting the preparation of the full proposal:
- Consortium: Are all project partners fully committed? Do you have any gaps in terms of expertise and experience? If so, can these be covered by one of the existing partners or do you need to get an additional partner on board? For example, do you have a partner specialised on dissemination, communication and exploitation? If not, you are welcome to contact us at accelopment and we can discuss our possible involvement. We are a Swiss SME with many years of experience in EU project participation and specific expertise in project management and outreach support.
- Budget: Is the budget you proposed in stage 1 realistic and justified? Although it is possible to change the project budget from stage 1 to stage 2, we recommend avoiding a major deviation from the initial budget or providing an explanation for a significant budget change.
- Work plan: Can you change the work plan, i.e. the work packages? Although this is possible, we recommend not to unless absolutely needed.
- Proposal documents: How do stage 2 documents look like and what to expect? We would advise you to download the proposal templates from the call page and check out the “Guide for Applicants” carefully. For those of you who are not familiar with H2020 proposal writing, it is important that you follow this strictly while adapting it to your project-specific needs. Part B1 is limited to 70 pages and Part B2 has no page limit – many pages to write within a short timeframe.
How can we help?
accelopment speaks from experience as we have been involved in successful stage 2 proposal writing for several projects, including CHEOPS (LCE – competitive Low-Carbon Energy) and EURO SHOCK (PM = Personalised Medicine / Health). There is still time to contact us and get us on board to support you in the proposal writing process, and why not for project management and communication, dissemination and exploitation activities?
