The Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU) is a European public-private partnership between the EU and a consortium of European bio-based industries. Its objective is to support the European bio-based industrial sector with the aim to significantly reduce Europe’s dependency on fossil-based products, help meet climate change targets and lead to greener and more environmentally friendly growth.
Innovative companies and researchers can apply for BBI grants and secure funding for their innovation projects for the next few years. How does it work? The BBI JU operates under Horizon 2020 (H2020) and funds research and innovation projects on different topics ranging from about 1 million to 16 million euro. Companies, Universities, research institutions and any other organisation can apply for funding to one of the many so-called call topics that are launched each year. In April 2020, the BBI published 16 call topics including 5 Research and Innovation Actions, 4 Coordination and Support Actions, 4 Demonstrations and 3 Flagships with a total budget of 102 million euro as shown here. The deadline for the submission of proposals for these call topics is the 3 September 2020.
We at accelopment support project coordinators and consortia in all phases of the project acquisition until the project completion thanks to over 20 years experience in EU funded projects. How does this work? Whether you are familiar with the BBI scheme or not but have a project idea and partners and wish to apply for one of the call topics listed below, please contact us. We can then discuss whether and how we can possibly support you in the proposal preparation and thereafter.
