Grant Advice

Identify the best suitable funding scheme for your research and innovation idea.

There are over 200 European funding schemes that provide grants, loans and other financial support for a broad range of activities. These include several initiatives to support research, development and innovation in universities, public and private research institutions as well as in the private sector, be it large industry or small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.  Horizon 2020 is the 8th EU Framework Programme and it is subdivided into three pillars (Excellent Science, Industrial Leadership and Societal Challenges). Within these pillars, there are more than 40 so-called instruments ranging from the Innovative Training Networks for the training of young researchers, FET Open for future emerging and breakthrough technologies, the industry-driven ICT and Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and Biotechnology (NMPB) sub-programmes, the SME-focused EIC accelerator (formerly SME Instrument) to the seven societal challenges namely health, demographic change and wellbeing; food security; secure, clean and efficient energy; smart, green and integrated transport; climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials; inclusive, innovative and reflective societies and secure societies. Additionally, there are many other attractive funding schemes under the umbrella of H2020, such as the Joint Undertakings and Joint Technology Initiatives, or outside, such as EUREKA-Eurostars and ERA-NETs.

We at accelopment are specialised in Horizon 2020, but cover also a range of other EU programmes as well as national funding schemes in Switzerland and some EU countries. We offer several options to best suit your needs: individual grant advice for your company, your research group or you individually, full strategic grant planning (sgp) and one-to-one meetings during our popular hands-on workshops.
