Companion Diagnostics expedited for SMEs

The Codex4SMEs Capitalisation initiative aims to widen the scope and impact of the initial Codex4SMEs project funded by the Interreg programme between 2017-2021.

The initial Codex4SMEs project was a support programme for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing companion diagnostics (Cdx). The project partners helped several SMEs in North-West Europe to optimise the time and cost-intensive product development process by offering a network and services such as support in biomarker validation or facilitated access to samples or know-how.

Under the follow-up Capitalisation Initiative, Codex4SMEs has enlarged its established network with three new partners from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. The original support scheme for SMEs will become a new Fast-Track Programme to accelerate the development process and time-to-market for novel diagnostic solutions. The knowledge and processes may be applied to other diagnostics solutions including COVID-19 diagnostics. Codex4SMEs expects the participating SMEs to gain market shares in Europe and on international markets, and increase their global competitiveness.
